Abstract

799,511. Mould and core materials. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 20, 1956 [Sept. 29, 1955], No. 27728/55. Class 83 (1). A carbonaceous coating, e.g. blacking or plumbago, for a mould or core is applied suspended in a liquid medium containing isopropylalcohol and up to 16 per cent by weight of water. The composition may include a resinous substance such as a urea- or phenol-formaldehyde resin, shellac, or wood rosin or mixtures thereof. After application, the composition is ignited to burn off the alcohol.
