Abstract
812,426. Mould and core materials. FOUNDRY SERVICES Ltd. March 1, 1957 [March 2, 1956], No. 6657/56. Class 83 (1). Shaped articles of exothermic, heat-insulating or refractory materials, or mixtures thereof, are made by compacting the material in granular form to the shape required, and applying to the surface thereof a layer of fabric impregnated with a self-setting plaster, such as plaster of Paris. The fabric may be a gauze of asbestos fibre, silica wood, &c., and may be impregnated with a waterproofing agent in addition to the plaster. The invention is described as applied to the manufacture of exothermic sleeves which, for test purposes, were backed with an iron cylinder, and had copper cast therein. Specifications 627,678, 758,193, 772,273, 774,490, 774,491, [all in Group II], and 785,984 are referred to.
