799,126. Rectilinear -- motion bearings. SCHAEFFLER, W., and SCHAEFFLER, G., [trading as INDUSTRIEWERK SCHAEFFLER OHG]. Aug. 20,1956 [Aug. 18, 1955], No. 25417/56. Class 12 (1). A rectilinear - motion bearing comprises a plurality of cage parts 1, 2 each arranged to hold a plurality of rolling elements 4 and each adapted for direct or indirect releasable connection to an adjoining part to form a complete cage structure of any desired length. Adjacent parts may be coupled together by inter-engaging hooks 5, 6 formed on the ends of the cage parts or by co-operating dovetail shaped grooves and tongues formed as shown in Fig. 2. Alternatively, the grooves and tongues extend in the direction of the thickness of the cage parts as shown in Fig. 3. In the modifications shown in Figs. 4 and 5, the cage parts are connected by intermediate coupling members 17, 21 respectively. The cage parts may be deformed as shown in Fig. 6 so that the rolling elements in one row are in a different plane from the rolling elements in another row.
