Abstract

798,079. Sheet-delivery apparatus. VEB DRUCKAUTOMATENWERK. July 18, 1955, No. 20708/55. Class 100(1) In a sheet delivery device for removing a sheet from the impression cylinder of a printing machine the removal is effected by suckers 6 which are reciprocated between the removal point and a delivery point, and in addition the feet of the suckers are given a rotational movement such that they ride on the periphery of cylinder at substantially the same peripheral speed as the cylinder during the sheet removal. The suckers 6 are mounted on a bar 5 rotatably carried by a lever 11 which guides the bar 5 in a rail 13 between the points 7 and 8. The bar 5 is reciprocated by the bar 11 through a lever 14, pivoted at 15, bar 16 and crank 17. The crank 17 is rigidly connected to a cam disc 18, which, through cam follower 16 and linkage system 20, 21, 29 causes rotation of the bar 5 when it reaches the position 7 in such a manner that the feet of the suckers 6 rotate at substantially the same speed as the peripheral speed of the impression cylinder 4 to pick up the leading edge of a printed sheet and remove it tangentially from the cylinder. The linkage system 20, 21...29 is pivoted to the lever 14 at 24 and is arranged so that the point 30 of linkage system coincides with the pivot point 15 in the middle of the stroke of the lever 20. The rail 13 may be curved slightly or may be pivoted at 8 and the lower end given a slight oscillatory movement.
