797,072. Prepayment mechanisms for gas &c. meters. PARKINSON & COWAN, Ltd. March 22, 1955 [March 29, 1954], No. 9192/54. Class 27. The mechanism of Specification 726,787 is modified, in that the stop device is adapted to 'be operated by opposite portions of the periphery of the larger of the correct coins. The stop device comprises two levers 19, 23 which are both moved from their rest positions by the insertion of the larger of the correct coins so that the hook 20 is moved out of the path of the projection 31 on the coin cam 30 and the latter can make an extended traverse. If an attempt is made to insert a coin C of intermediate size by forcing the coin against the trigger 22 in an attempt to lift the hook 20, a stop 25 on the lever 23 engages a stop 21 on the lever 19 to arrest the movement of the latter. The lever 23 is loaded by a spring 27 which bears against a projection 28.
