[Class 106 (i).] In coin-counting apparatus in which the coins are brought by driving rollers into engagement with a star-wheel, a coin stop is held in an inoperative position by a bar which is moved one step at each revolution of the star-wheel until a predetermined number of coins has passed, whereupon the bar allows the stop to move into such a position that the coin supply is interrupted. The coins leaving a shoot 1 are caused by rotating rollers 2 to actuate a star-wheel 3 connected to counting apparatus (not shown). At each revolution of the wheel 3, a pin 6 thereon engages a cam 8 having a pawl 10 which moves by one step a bar 12. The bar 12 is pulled to the left by a spring 44, a collar 15 enabling it to be set so that one of a number of graduations is adjacent to an index face 14. A locking pawl 21 contacts with the top of the bar 12. One of the arms of a U-shaped sliding member 34 bears on the bar 12, and when the bar has been displaced by the passage of the last coin in the batch for which the bar was set, this member passes through an opening 42 in the bar under the action of a spring 37 and closes the end of the shoot by a stop 31. To reset the device a lever 41 is rocked, the member 34 then being raised above its normal position until a projection 30 rocks a plate 24 pivoted at 23. A projection 29 on the plate then lowers the pawl 10 and a slot 25 therein rocks the locking pawl 21, the bar 12 thus being freed to return to its set position. The plate 24 is normally held by a spring 26 against a stop 27.
