796,992. Nuclear reactors. UNITED KING- DOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. July 12, 1954 [April 13, 1953], No. 10086/53. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(4). A nuclear reactor comprises a number of removable self-contained units each comprising a nuclear reactive section, a heat exchanger, a primary coolant circuit passing through the nuclear reactive section and the heat exchanger, means for circulating the coolant in the primary circuit, a neutron absorbing shield preventing neutron irradiation of the heat exchanger and secondary coolant connection, and a gamma ray absorbing shield preventing excessive gamma radiation reaching the access face of the unit. The reactor described is identical with that described in Specification 796,991.
