A device for use when the toes have been amputated comprises a sole member 1 which is flexible at the front end and carries attachments 9, 10 and a toe cap 11. This device enables ordinary footwear to be worn. Preferably the attachments are secured by internal tongues 14 engaging slots in plates 17 and held by set-screws. They may however be made slightly yielding by making the tongues slidable in guides and urged into the desired position by springs and/or the tongues may be pivotally attached to the members 9, 10, 11. A heel grip is provided to retain the device on the foot.
