In a rotary oil vacuum pump of the outwardly-sliding radial vane type the contacting surfaces of the pump such as the vanes and the abutment are made of anti-friction material such as copper impregnated with polytetrafluorethylene or molybdenum having a molybdenum sulphide bearing surface.
