794,901. Nuclear fuel elements. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. Dec. 11, 1952 [Dec. 17, 1951], No. 29555/51. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(4). In a nuclear reactor fuel element, the sheath, a beryllium tube, is formed with longitudinal bores in the wall into which the uranium rods are fitted. The bores may be closed by individual plugs or by a ring fitting into a channel cut into the tube end surface or by spinning over the walls of the channel. The outer and inner surfaces of the sheath may be fluted.
