Abstract

792,428. Commutator windings for dynamoelectric machines. FLETCHER, G. H. June 18, 1956 [June 29, 1955], No. 18831/55. Class 35. Armature slot conductors 1 are made of several separate sections or strands, one of which, at each turn, is extended beyond the rest to provide commutator connections 7 at the rear end of the coils. As shown, the coil has five turns of flat strip divided into four sections but interconnected, as by brazing at X. Coils are interconnected at the start S and finish F in the usual way except that the commutator risers are not used for this purpose. Multiturn coils may be provided by taking commutator connections from alternate coils or less often. The sub-divided conductors may lie vertically instead of horizonta,lly in the slots.
