792,385. Brushes; picking-up tools. DALLOW, H. E. Jan. 2, 1957 [Jan. 5, 1956], No. 375/56. Classes 19 and 61. [Also in Group XXVIII] A drain-trap cleaner comprises a rubber or like flexible plunger 11 carried by, and projecting beyond the periphery of, a brush head 10 angularly adjustable on a handle 15. A scraper and drain-grid lifting tool 19 may be fixed, e.g., riveted in a diametrical slot, in the opposite end of the handle. As shown screws 13 with milled nuts 14 clamp the plunger 11 between the wire- or other stiff-bristled head 10 and a plate 12 having a raised central portion bearing lugs 17 which can be tightened on to the handle 15 by a wing-nut 18 on a bolt 16 about which the head 10 is previously adjusted, e.g., in line with the handle for scrubbing the sides of a draintrap, and then perpendicularly thereto as shown for use of the plunger 11 to force the water in the drain-trap over the U-bend. The plunger 11 fits the cross-section of the drain-trap (e.g., circular, or square with rounded corners), the head 10 being similarly shaped but smaller : for circular section drain-traps the head 10 may have a curved bristle face.
