Abstract
792,034. Innersole foot-arch supports. TOWN. E. W. June 18, 1956, No. 18811/56. Class 17(2) An insole comprises two sheets of material, preferable heat sealable plastic, joined round their edges the top sheet 10 being slit at 12 to provide two pockets. A sealed pneumatic cushion having two chambers 16 and 17, 18 is inserted in the forward pocket in a lengthwise adjustable position. The insole sheets are joined along a line 13 to provide a positioning obstruction for the metatarsal chamber 18. The heel pocket has a stiff plate member 20 to aid positioning of the insole in the shoe or alternatively a U-shaped pneumatic heel cushion may be provided. The pneumatic cushions are preferably also made of heat sealable plastic material.
