Abstract

1,063,039. Boots &c. SCHOLL MFG. CO. Ltd. May 27, 1964, No. 21982/64. Heading A3B. A foot corrective device for use under the heel of a foot comprises a foot supporting body 3, a cover layer 1 which is secured to the body 3 along the line (8) by stitching or inside the line (8) by adhesive to form a pocket 9 outside the line (8) into which an insert (10) can be placed to adjust the device to the particular user's foot. The body 3 may have a bottom cover layer 2 or may have a layer of resilient material (not shown) e.g. latex, vinyl .or polyurethane foam, secured to its bottom both of these layers -being apertured at 4, 5 beneath the os calcis. The support tody 3 and the insert (10) may be cork, rubber or felt and the insert (10) may be formed in several pieces e.g. two -side pieces and a rear piece. The cover layers 1, 2 may be leather or plastics sheets. The body 3 partially supports the rearmost portion of the longitudinal arch immediately in front -of the heel.
