Abstract

791,838. Log feeding apparatus. HEWITTROBINS, Inc. Oct. 12, 1955 [Oct. 18, 1954], No. 29056/55. Class 78 (1). A log-feeding apparatus comprises a stationary bin 1 with rotating floor 35, the logs being introduced through the open top and discharged through tangential shoot 7 on to endless conveyer 8. The floor 35 is provided with springs 21, and has upstanding lugs 36 which propel the logs, the latter being diverted by deflector 30. Any accumulated bark falls into duct 47 and is discharged at 51 by blades 48, 49 carried by the underneath of floor 35. The said floor is driven by motor 18 and is carried by rollers 11.
