Abstract
791,717. Erecting wall slabs. VARTIA, K. O. Feb. 8, 1956, No. 3980/56. Class 20(1) [Also in Group XXX] A concrete wall slab 3 is cast on a deflated air or liquid containing balloon which is later inflated to tilt the slab about an anchor or hinge A into vertical wall position with the help of cables 4 and 5. A slab may also be moved horizontally by casting it on a first balloon 2, Fig. 2, then rolling it on to a second (left hand) balloon 2 and so on, the final balloon then being partially deflated to manoeuvre the slab into inclined position for further vertical erecting. A number of superposed ballons, Fig. 3 (not shown) may be used to raise a roofing slab vertically up and on to columns. The balloons may be of doughnut shape. A pattern may be cast on the slab by placing pattern material on top of the flat balloon. Domed roofs may be made using balloons on a domed mound of earth fill, the fill being removed after the dome had been lifted to supported position.
