Abstract
1460017 Method of erecting storage tanks K SEVERN and A HODGKINSON 16 April 1974 [12 April 1973] 17726/73 Heading E1T A method of erecting a liquid storage tower comprises the steps of erecting a column 10, attaching a set of shuttering panels 20, 31 at one level on the column and connecting the panels to the column at a higher level to form a mould and finally casting a layer of concrete 38 over the upper surface of the panels to form a container. The column is erected on a base 14 and made up from concrete rings 15 utilizing a ring scaffold supported from a crane, Fig. 2. The panels 20, 31 are of concrete and serve as last shuttering to receive a finishing layer of concrete applied by a gun. When serving as a mould the panels are supported by removable struts for details of which to-gether with joints, seals, service piping and cover the Specification and remaining drawings, (not shown), should be referred to.
