Abstract
A dyeing machine comprises an outer vessel A, inner vessels E mounted in pairs for rotation by a shaft D and in operation having their lids E1 clamped down on to sealing rings by bars G and wing nuts g, a burner C for heating surrounding liquid in the vessel A, a pressure relief valve, and an outlet pipe a. In operation, the vessels E are opened and a sample of textile material and the same or different dye liquor placed in each. The lids E1 are then clamped down and the vessel A filled with heat transfer liquid, e.g. oil. The cover B is then clamped <PICT:0791597/IV (b)/1> down and the oil heated by the burner C, the shaft D and the vessels E being rotated by an external electric motor and drive (Fig. 2, not shown) until the sample material has been penetrated by the dye.
