Class 44 [Also in Group XVIII] A door 1 for a pressure vessel 2 is provided with radially slidable bolts 4 each having its inner end 7 projecting at an angle away from the door surface, and a sheath member 10 with a conical annular slot 12 into which the inner ends 7 of the bolts 4 extend, the sheath member being mounted so that it can be moved towards or away from the door to cause the bolts to slide radially. As shown, the inner ends of the bolts are formed with enlargements 8 which engage the slot 12. The sheath member 10 is rotatable on a threaded spindle 9 fixed to the door, by a handwheel 11.
