Abstract

790,703. Superheating steam. KALDERON. D. Aug. 1, 1956 [Aug. 5, 1955], No. 22667/55. Class 123(3) [Also in Group XXVI] In a power-generating system heated fluid is supplied partly to a power plant, for example, a steam or gas turbine plant, and partly to a heat pump, the heat rejected from the heat pump being supplied to the power plant. For utilizing the heat generated in an atomic pile A.P., the cooling fluid for the pile is circulated in two systems, one supplying heat to generate steam in a boiler S.B. and the other supplying heat to the evaporator R.E.V. of a heat pump H.P. Steam from the boiler S.B. is superheated in a superheater S.Sh by heat rejected from the heat pump refrigerant in the condenser R.Cd, expanded in a turbine S.T.U. driving an output generator G and the heat pump compressor R.Co, and after being condensed in the condenser S.Cd returned to the boiler. Compressed refrigerant vapour after being condensed in the condenser R.Cd is returned to the evaporator R.Ev.
