Class 79(3) [Also in Group XXXIV] In a brake system for a vehicle having liquid cooled friction brakes incorporated in the front and rear wheel mountings 12 and 13, the liquid is circulated by pumps 40 on the rear axle and normally passes by pipes 50 and 96 through heat exchanger 85 on the front wheel brakes and through a second heat exchanger 90 between the front wheel brakes and a liquid reservoir 66, a valve 55 being incorporated in the system which operates to by-pass the heat exchangers so long as the coolant temperature remains below a certain value.
