In a marine tanker vessel for the carriage of volatile liquids having at least one cylindrical tank 2 the longitudinal axis of which is parallel to that of the vessel and the diameter of which is greater than half the width of the vessel, the outer circumference of the tank is provided with stiffening rings 3 which are rigidly connected to the athwartship web frames 1 of the vessel. The tank and web frames may extend above the deck. The interior of the tank may be lined with insulating material, e.g., balsa wood.
