A transport unit for condensed gas comprises at least one substantially spherically-shaped container 2 for the condensed gas situated in a substantially cylindrical fore-and-aft hold of a sea-going vessel. The hull 1 is cigar shaped and may be completely or partly filled with a liquid which is solidified by the temperature of the wall of the container 2 when the latter contains condensed gas. In another embodiment a single casing containing insulation material extends over all the containers and warm air may be introduced into the space between the casing and the hull.
