Abstract
786,126. Transformers. SMIT & CO.'S TRANSFORMATORENFABRIK N.V., W. Oct. 28, 1955 [Nov. 29, 1954], No. 30954/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (2). An electric transformer comprises two separate concentric windings at least one of which consists of a number of branches or conductors connected in parallel, the layers of the winding having equal numbers of turns ; conductors of equal thickness and arranged in groups with the same pattern of conductor spacings such that the circulating currents which are generated in the winding as a result of the different spacings are substantially reduced. The Specification sets out certain mathematical formulµ which have to be complied with according to the number of groups in the winding and the number of parallel branch conductors contained by the winding.
