Abstract
785,648. Bolts &c. ROLLS-ROYCE, Ltd. Jan. 19, 1956 [Jan. 19, 1955], No. 1687/55. Class 89(1) In securing a part 13, e.g. an oil-tank of an internal-combustion-turbine, to a part 12, eg, the outer wall of an intakeduct 10, wherein the interior of the part 13 is inaccessible, by one or more screws 25, nuts 29 and'washers 30, each screw has an eccentric head 26 formed, e.g. by removing a segment from a cylindrical head. The parts have abutting flanges 20, 22 with aligned holes for the or each screw and, before assembly of the parts, the screw is applied to flange 20 and turned until its head engages in a recess 21 thereby to hold the screw in position. Part 13 has an axially-extending flange 23 which engages the side of the screw head where it is nearest to the screw shank, and thereby prevents turning of the screw as the nut is tightened. Recess 21 may. extend to serve for a number of screws.
