Abstract

784,755. Actuation of switches. TEDDINGTON AIRCRAFT CONTROLS, Ltd. March 26, 1956 [March 25, 1955], No. 8839/55. Class 38 (5). In a pressure - operated switch in which movement of a plunger 9 connected to a diaphragm 5 actuates switch contacts through a slidable pin 14, the plunger (and hence the diaphragm) is loaded by a spring 10 whose other end is engaged by a cam-following lever 22 controlled by a cam 20 driven by a reversible electric motor, so that rotation of the cam varies the spring pressure on the diaphragm and hence the pressure differential at which the switch operates. The contacts comprise spring blades co - operating with fixed contacts and provide an " on-off " switch unit 12 and a reversing switch unit 13. A cover 12 is sealed in position to provide a closed chamber.
