Abstract

979,108. Cam-operated switches. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Sept. 3, 1963 [Aug. 23, 1962], No. 32522/62. Heading H2B. A motor-driven rotor 5 moves between limit stops 6 and 7 such that micro-switches 12 or 13 are operated near the end of the movement to de-energize the motor 8 and disengage the clutch 10, and a weak tension spring 16 then biases the rotor 5 towards the stop to complete the movement. A changeover switch 11 is operated to start up the motor in the opposite direction and return the rotor 5 to its initial stop. Microswitches 12, 13 are alternatively operated by cam-followers which engage a cam carried on the rotor driving shaft. A compression spring arrangement could replace the tension spring 16.
