Abstract
798,740. Gas-blast switches; actuation of switches. SMIT & CO'S TRANSFORMATORENFABRIEK N.V., W. March 11, 1957 [March 29, 1956], No. 7991/57. Class 38 (5). A motor 1 changes over a pair of gas-blast circuit-breakers forming part of a transformer tap-changer, the motor driving through a lostmotion device 6, 7 and inertia flywheel 9, a crank 10, 11 which, in the initial half-turn. tensions a spring 12 which thereupon drives a Maltese-cross gearing 14, 15, 16 through 60 degrees and a 3 : 1 reduction gearing 18, 19, whereby a shaft 20 carrying a crank 22 is rotated through 180 degrees. The crank is coupled to the operating rods 26, 27 which, in turn, are coupled to the contacts 28, 22 by springs 38, 39, the enclosures 32, 33 having gas-inlets 34, 35. In order to even out the operating torque, a further flywheel 21 is mounted on the crank-shaft 20. Specification 697,558 and Swiss Specification 298,269 are referred to.
