Abstract

Pantothenic acid or a salt thereof in vitamin compositions is preserved by incorporating, in addition to an organic carrier such as distillers' dried grains or wheat middlings, an alkali-metal carbonate or bicarbonate as an alkalizing agent. Sufficient alkalizing agent is preferably added to adjust the pH of the composition to within the range of 6 to 8, a proportion of 1 to 5 per cent being ordinarily required.
