Abstract

1,252,224. Synthetic triglyceride composition. SCM CORP. 22 Jan., 1970, No. 3141/70. Heading C5C. [Also in Division C2] A triglyceride composition temperable to a stable beta-crystalline form and useful as a hard butter comprises the co-crystallization product of a mixture comprising: (1) 70-95 wt. per cent of at least one triglyceride of the Formula (A) and (2) 30-5 wt. per cent of a mixture of at least one triglyceride of each of the Formulµ (B) and (C) the total proportion of triglyceride of each of (B) and (C) being substantially equimolecular; where S is a saturated aliphatic acyl radical and U is an unsaturated aliphatic acyl radical, each containing 16-18 carbon atoms. Examples describe compositions comprising about 90 wt. per cent 2-oleo 1,3 dipalmitin with approximately equimolar amounts of 1 palmito 2,3 diolein and 3 oleo 1,2 dipalmitin, or of 3 stearo 1,2 diolein and 3 oleo 1,2 distearin. The composition may be tempered at 30-33‹ C. in an inert atmosphere to convert to the #-form.
