783,203. Manifolding units. WILKES, J. March 27, 1956 [April 2, 1955], No. 9659/55. Class 16 A manifolding set of superimposed sheets has inspection holes, slots or openings provided in the sheets so that each under sheet can be inspected through an opening or superimposed openings in superimposed sheet or sheets so as to ensure a full set of sheets. Each sheet a may have holes b<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 2, in the upper margin, one hole being omitted in each sheet where the number of that sheet is printed to show through the holes' b<SP>1</SP> of the upper sheets, or the under sheets may have one less hole than the sheet above. In place of numbers to show through the holes, each sheet may be in a different colour. When carbon sheets are secured in the set, similar holes c may be provided in the gummed strip d which includes the head margin d<SP>1</SP> of the carbon sheet having one less hole than the carbon sheet above, so that each carbon sheet shows through to the top sheet at one hole only. The holes b<SP>1</SP> and c may be joined together to form slots. As shown in Fig. 6, the top sheet may be cut back at j a distance h, the second sheet a distance i and so on, the carbon sheets being similarly cut back a slightly less amount so as to show at k.
