781,644. Hydraulic jacks. KLOCKNERBERGBAU VICTOR-ICKERN AKT.-GES. Aug. 10, 1954 [May 7, 1954], No. 13663/56. Divided out of 781,643, [Group X]. Class 69 (2). An hydraulic jack, particularly for moving the frames of the mobile system of mine roof support described in Specification 781,643, comprises a cylinder 37 closed at one end by a member 36 housing a rotary valve comprising a truncated conical plug 42 by means of which pressure from an inlet 45 can be admitted to either side of a jack piston 39 and the other side opened to an exhaust passage 48. Passages 45, 48 extend right through the member 36 so that the jack may be connected to pressure and return lines serving a number of jacks. The inlet passage 45 is always in communication with a space 31 at one end of the plug, the other end being always open to exhaust so that the plug is held on its seating. A spring 28 also helps to maintain the plug on its seating.
