Abstract

779,554. Hydraulic transmission of power. PLESSEY CO., Ltd. Aug. 25, 1955 [June 24, 1954], No. 18515/54. Class 69 (2). A control valve arrangement for an hydraulic motor 9 comprises piston valves 4, 5 controlling admission of liquid to each side of the motor from an inlet 1 and exhaust from the motor through lines 3, 3a. Valves 4, 5 are spring urged to positions in which each side of the motor is open to exhaust. Pilot valves 8, 8a control the valves 4, 5 and actuation of one of the pilot valves closes communication between a passage 7 and the inlet 1 and opens the passage 7 to an exhaust passage 6 so that the corresponding piston valve 4 or 5 is moved against its spring loading to admit liquid to the corresponding side of the motor.
