Abstract

780,684. Hinged articles, stays for. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. July 29, 1955 [Aug. 4, 1954], No. 22005/55. Class 65(1) A car boot cover 5 or the like is held open by a V-grooved roller 11 carried by the cover engaging a circular part 9 formed between two arms of a stay 8 which are pivoted at 2 to the body of the car. The cover closes when sufficient force is applied to disengage the roller 11 'from the circular part 9 and allow the roller to slide down the arms of the stay 8. The arms may cross over at the top end and form a loop 9<SP>1</SP> to increase their elasticity. The stay may be made of nylon reinforced with spring steel or of superpolyamide.
