Abstract
780,325. Ditch-cleaning apparatus. BAKER & HUNT, Ltd. Aug. 24, 1955 [May 24, 1954, Dec. 1, 1954], Nos. 15229/54 and 34833/54. Class 68(1) The frame 12, 13 of a ditch-cleaning apparatus can be rigidly secured to, so as to extend laterally of, a tractor and from a frame 24, 27 which is mounted on the fame 12, 13 about pivots 23 and rotated about said pivots by a ram 43, 44, or from a frame pivotally attached to the frame 24, 27 a scoop carrier is supported by a pair of links 30, 31, that are of different length and are pivotally mounted on the frame 23 so that the scoop carrier may have a transverse swinging movement with respect to the frame 23. In one embodiment a scroop 45 is rigidly secured to the rear portion of the carrier. In a second embodiment the scoop may be so mounted on the carrier that it may move to and fro along it, the scoop being hauled forward by hydraulically actuated lift arms incorporated in the tractor acting on a cable 47 extending between the frame 12, 13 and the scoop 45. An ejector plate 57 is caused to move forwardly through the scoop during the upward swinging movement of the scoop because a cable 59 secured to the frame 12, 13 and the scoop passes about guide means 62 attached to the frame 23. In the first Provisional Specification cutters discs and shares are described as being associated with the scoop.
