Abstract
779,574. Camera lens mounts. GEDDES, J. W., and TAYLOR, TAYLOR & HOBSON, Ltd. Nov. 23, 1955, No. 33599/55. Classes 97(1) and 98(1) A camera lens mount is provided with two external screwthreads A<SP>7</SP>, D<SP>2</SP> of different diameter, each with its corresponding back flange face D<SP>3</SP>, D\ so that the lens may be fitted into either of two cameras having different mechanical back foci and threads of different diameter, the determination of the distance between the two back flange faces being dependent on accurate machining of a separate member secured on the body of the mount. The separate member may carry either or both the screwthreads, and either or both the back flange faces. As shown in Fig. 1, the separate member D carries the larger thread and both back flanges, and is locked on the mount by means of a screw N. Many variations are described. Thus the separate member may be internally threaded to screw on to the smaller thread, and/or the back flange D<SP>1</SP> for the larger thread may be carried by the mount itself or both threads and back flanges may be on the separate member which is secured to the body of the mount. Other means for locking the separate member to the mount are described.
