Abstract
779,000. Electrical servo systems. BRIGGS, G. April 23, 1953 [Jan. 24, 1952], No. 4384/57. Divided out of 775,171. Class 40 (1). A device for an electrical servo system comprises a container 20 containing a conductive liquid, a set of four stator electrodes 22, 24, symmetrically arranged about an axis and subtending equal angles thereat and a rotor 21 carrying two electrodes 23 symmetrically arranged about the axis and subtending equal angles thereat. In the device shown which is a sine cosine resolver the electrodes are arcuate and are disposed in alcohol made conductive with acid or alkali. The device may form the transmitter of a remote position indicator with a receiver of the well known type shown in Fig. 2. The receiver rotor coil A<SP>1</SP> and the transmitter rotor A may both be supplied with A.C. so that the receiver rotor follows up movements of the transmitter rotor. Alternatively either the transmitter or receiver rotor only may be supplied with A.C. and an error signal derived from the other rotor. Specification 647,206 is referred to.
