Abstract

1415356 Voltage measuring M POSSATI [trading as APPARECCHI ELETTRONICI MARPOSS] 4 Dec 1972 [30 Dec 1971] 55846/72 Heading G1U An unknown voltage from a transducer 21, Fig. 1, is compared 19 with a voltage, representing the position of an indicator, derived from a first brush 55 functioning as the movable tap of a potentiometer 58, 81, and a second brush 54 which transmits the voltage to a conductor 56, and any difference between the two voltages is amplified 20 to cause a motor 11 to move the indicator to the desired position. A small A.C. voltage 31 is superimposed on the motor supply voltage to overcome stiction. The indicator comprises a flexible tape 41, 42, wound on two drums 30, 34. The top and bottom parts of the tape are differently coloured so that the colour transition (15) Fig. 2, (not shown) when viewed alongside a suitable scale provides an indication of the unknown voltage.
