Abstract

778,948. Dispensing measured quantities of liquid. CHADBURNS (LIVERPOOL), Ltd. July 8, 1955 [July 31, 1954]; No. 22404/54. Classes 27 and 106 (5). A device for delivering measured quantities of liquid comprises a measuring chamber 26 having an inlet 23 at one end and an outlet 22 at another end, two valve members 19, 20 mounted on a rod 14, means for operating the rod so that the outlet is closed when the inlet is opened and vice versa a liquid discharge pipe 24 and an air vent 25. The rod 14 is loaded by a spring 21 and slidably actuated by an electro magnet or solenoid 17. A flange 12 enables the device, which may be coin operated, to be secured to a tank in an inclined position. The capacity of the measuring chamber 26 may be adjusted by providing enlargements on the rod 14 or on the walls of the chamber itself or a liner or part liner may be fitted to the chamber. Alternatively, parts of the rod or chamber may be cut away.
