Abstract

778,891. Magnets. SANGAMO WESTON, Ltd. Aug. 12, 1955 [Aug. 19, 1954], No. 23333/55. Class 35. [Also in Group XXXVI] A Y-shaped permanent magnet has the ends of its arms of opposite polarity to that of the base as shown in the Figure and an annular yoke of high permeability material encloses the magnet, so that its arms magnetically contact the inner surface of the yoke and its base is spaced from the yoke to form an air gap of a moving coil electrical measuring instrument (see Group XXXVI). A moving coil is pivotally supported for swing- ing movement about an axis disposed between the arms of the magnet with the other coil sideportion movable circumferentially along the air gap (Figs. 2, 3 and 4 (not shown)).
