778,617. Strap fastenings. HALL, W. D. Sept. 23, 1955 [Oct.- 7, 1954], No. 27168/55. Class 44. An anchor means for a binding strap comprises a section 1 including a face strip 5 having an opening 11 therein, the opening in one direction having a portion extending transversely of said section and in another direction a portion extending longitudinally of the section to provide at least a transverse pair of anchor tabs behind which can be disposed an anchor plate 21 having an anchor strap 29 secured thereto, and stop means 33 for such anchor plate when disposed behind said transverse pair of tabs to preclude movement of such anchor plate along the section beneath the face strip when such strap extends under tension along the section beneath the face strip. As shown, the opening 11 is of cross-shape and four anchor tabs 13-19 are provided which can be used as either two transverse pairs of two longitudinal pairs. The stop means 33 are tabs bent downwardly adjacent the ends of the longitudinal arms of the cross-shaped opening and they are fastened as by welding to a base strip 3 which underlies, and is spaced from the face strip 5. The face strip 5 is provided with notches 23 at each end and when a plurality of sections are used end to end these notches together with the corresponding notches in the adjacent sections formopenings through which an anchor strap can be passed so that its end underlies the face strip. The face strip and base strip are each the web of a channel member the two channel members being welded together.
