Abstract

[Also in Division E2] A fastening device comprises a strap 10 having a tubular pin 11 projecting therefrom, the pin having a peripheral dimension which is constant over substantially its entire length and being made of a resilient material which permits the pin to be driven into an aperture in a panel whose area is slightly less than the normal crosssectional area of the pin so that the pin is retained by friction in the aperture at any chosen position. In the construction shown, the pin is at one end of the strap and the device holds a pipe or cable to a support by passing the strap around the pipe or cable passing the pin through an aperture in the other end of the strap and then engaging the pin with the aperture in the support. In another construction in addition to the pin at one end of the strap a similar pin is provided at the other end and a pipe or cable is fixed to a support by the pins engaging spaced apertures with the strap straddling the pipe or cable. In a modification of either form the pin or pins and the strap instead of being integrally formed, as shown, are separate. In this case the strap can have a plurality of apertures to receive the pins.
