Abstract
778,190. Ferro-resonant circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. July 27, 1955 [April 27, 1954], No. 12227/54. Class 40 (4). A ferro-resonant flip-flop includes saturable inductors 7, 8 and saturable capacitors 9, 10 arranged in two parallel limbs across a 250 kc/s. supply on terminals 1, 2. Each limb is tuned to the supply frequency when both reactor elements thereof are saturated. The circuit is stable with one limb saturated and the other unsaturated and is changed from one side to the other by successive position pulses on terminal 19. When limb 7, 9 is saturated, the highvoltage across saturated capacitor 9 is rectified at 13 to provide a signal on terminal 24. This voltage is in opposition to the next positive pulse on terminal 19 so that a greater current flows in control winding 12 than in control winding 11, limb 8, 10 becomes saturated and limb 7, 9 de-saturates. The inductors 7, 8 may be constructed as described in Specification 778,191, [Group XXXV]. The inductor and the capacitor of a limb may be connected in parallel.
