Abstract

778,079. Tyre-removing apparatus. GENERAL TRADING & RUBBER CO (LIVERPOOL), Ltd. June 29, 1955 [June 30, 1954], No. 19105/54. Class 144 (1). A tyre-removing machine comprises a rigid rectangular box frame-work 14-19 to the upper members 14, 18 of which is detachably bolted a polygonal frame 11, of five or more sides, pivotally supporting circumferentially spaced wedge-shaped tyre pushers 12 which press the tyre from the wheel rim (from which the detachable flange has been removed) when the wheel rim is raised towards the pushers by a vertically movable wheel-support platform 23. As shown the platform 23 may be connected to the piston of a hydraulic jack 21, and rollers 19 may be provided adjacent the wheel platform 23 to facilitate loading of the wheel and tyre on to the platform.
