777,867. Screening thermionic valves. CARR FASTENER CO., Ltd. Nov. 7, 1955 [Dec. 10, 1954], No. 35892/54. Class 39(1). [Also in Group XL(c)] A screening can for a thermionic valve has a tubular metal shell 1 with a screw thread 2 for cooperative engagement with a socket or mounting member 9, Fig. 2, the shell wall being formed with resilient panels 6 having an opening along at least one edge to permit air circulation, the panels being flexed inwardly to engage resiliently the envelope of the valve to be screened. The panels may be bounded by single slots or by pairs of adjacent slots and may be axial or run circumferentially around the can. The socket 9 has embossments 11 in a helical path to engage the screw thread 2 and may also have openings 12 to facilitate air circulation.
