Abstract

862,160. Anchor-nuts. TINNERMAN, G. A. Sept. 27, 1958, No. 30931/58. Class 89(1). An anchor-nut comprises a body 2, Fig. 1, with a screwed-hole 8 therethrough, and slots 7 on opposite-sides of the hole receiving strips 9 secured therein by peening at 10, or by welding &c. Parts 11 of the strips are bent down and have chisel-ends 12, Fig. 4. The body is driven into a recess 5 in a workpiece, so that parts 11 dig in and, due to their ends 12, pivot outwards and towards the body. For mounting on the surface of a workpiece, parts 11 are made longer than the body 2.
