Abstract

777,728. Magnetic couplings. ELEKTROMECHANIK GES. Aug. 6, 1954, No. 22920/54. Class 35. A magnetic powder clutch or the parts thereof which enclose the " air gap " is or are built as a unit for ready attachment to a flywheel. The Figure shows a flywheel 10 having a cylindrical cavity which is closed by a lid 17 and in this enclosure is accommodated an electromagnet having a coil 15 on a carrier 14 as the primary member and a disc 20 with a ring 21 as the secondary member, the flywheel completing the magnetic circuit. The lid 17 has two closable openings 28, 29 serving for filling and emptying the iron powder with or without oil, graphite, &c. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 649,553, [Group XXXIV].
