Abstract

775,223. Mounting bearings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. March 23, 1955 [March 23, 1954], No. 8493/55. Class 12 (1). A bearing housing for a dynamo - electric machine, &c. comprises a generally cylindrical wall 11 for receiving the outer race of a bearing, the wall having a plurality of axial slits 22 and being slightly tapered so as to maintain radial pressure on the race to secure it against creepage rotation and yieldingly to permit axial movement thereof. A flange has apertures 20 for receiving bolts whereby the housing is secured to a supporting structure.
