Class 102(1) A pump piston 12 is actuated in one direction by a cam 13 and in the other by an auxiliary piston 20 engaging an abutment 22 on the piston 12 and operating in an auxiliary cylinder 21 connected by a duct 22a to at least one other auxiliary cylinder and piston associated with another pump piston driven by a further and out of phase cam. A spring loaded compensating piston 24 is connected to the duct 22a which with the cylinders 21 is filled with liquid.
