Abstract

774,658. Rotary compressors. FAWZI, M. I. Sept. 23, 1955 [Oct. 16, 1954], No. 27149/55. Class 110 (2). A rotary compressor or the like of the rotary abutment type has a rotor with at least two projections which cooperate with a recess or recesses in at least one rotary abutment characterized in that the profile of each projection is of epicyclic shape and each recess is bounded by straight lines. Fig. 3 shows a compressor in which a rotary abutment 2 having a, recess 11 controls a discharge part 24 as a rotary valve so that the fluid being conveyed is compressed by a projection 6 before being discharged. In other embodiments the rotor may have two or four projections while the abutment has two recesses, or the rotor may have n projections co-operating with n-1 abutments, each having two recesses. The rotary abutment may be a plane plate. Labyrinth sealings may be arranged between co-acting sealing surfaces.
